Membership Information

If you are a mental health provider in private practice and are interested in joining SSCIT as a professional member, you may print out an application and submit it at anytime.  Just click on the link to view/print an application.  Our annual membership dues are $65 per year.  Our fiscal year begins in July and ends in June. 

Please note: If you apply for membership AFTER the July 1 deadline, your listing will only be included online and NOT in the printed directory. As membership is rolling (after July 1), please consider that you will need to pay your dues for the current year you apply AND again between April 1 and July 1 for the subsequent fiscal period NO MATTER WHAT TIME OF YEAR YOU JOINED IN THE PREVIOUS FISCAL PERIOD. 

Once the application process is completed, you will be invited to utilize our many helpful networking resources.  These include, but are not limited to:

Inclusion in the annual directory of therapists.  Members joining before the July 1st deadline will secure inclusion in our hard copy directory as well as on our online list seen on this website.  Members joining after the July 1st deadline will not be afforded the luxury of a listing in our hard copy directory, but will be added to our online directory during the year.  Updates for our website listings are usually processed weekly.  Annually, our website is updated in early September and our hard copy edition of membership listings is published in mid-September.

Use of our listserv email group (see link on home page).  Joining this listserv will allow you to send an email to about 100+ members at once.  It is great for asking referral questions, announcing new aspects of your practice, maintaining a social action discussion on any particular topic and more.  You will also be receiving all emails from members and have the ability to just be updated and/or reply to any posted query or informational message.  There is no additional cost for signing on to this listserv service.  It is a privilege included in your membership fee.  Only members can be approved for participation of this service.

Opportunities for self-promotion.  We currently offer quarterly topical luncheons for our members.  During these events, a speaker is engaged to offer enlightenment and information to our members about an aspect of their practice about which they are passionate.  We prefer to feature our members as presenters.  It is a great way to get noticed and to hone your public speaking skills.

Inclusion on our mailing list.  This is an automatic plus for our members.  We have many non-members and former members on our mailing list.  But you will be spared the extra effort of requesting this benefit.  We send out quarterly newsletters (which can also be viewed online) in which you will have an opportunity to place an advertisement or announcement.  Other mailings distributed from time to time include invitations to popular events such as our annual open house in Spring.
